Hear From Our Community

We absolutely love this place. Our primary care Dr recently moved out of state and we needed to find a new Dr for several residents. All of the staff there is very kind and accommodating. Dr Mark is very thorough with everyone, runs all the appropriate testing, and makes everyone feel comfortable and listens to their thoughts and concerns They also offer dermatology and psychiatry which all of our residents benefit from. We have recently met with the psychiatry Dr. Our residents all think highly of him also, as he listens and is very compassionate. Thank you from Patty and Tiffany in Loudonville.

We can answer all your burning questions now

Got questions? We've got answers! Here are some of the common queries we receive:

What is The Viola Startzma Clinic?

Since 1995, The Viola Startzman Clinic (VSC) has provided high-quality comprehensive medical and dental care, sexual and reproductive health, wellness education, medications, specialty health services, and resources for daily needs at no charge to qualifying patients. Today, it has expanded to accept patients with Medicaid, Medicare, and other insurance plans. The clinic became accredited as a Rural Health Clinic in July 2017.

While anyone can access care at The VSC, our mission is to serve as a safety net for lower income patients who struggle to access care in other places. Most insurances are accepted, as are self-pay patients. If you are uninsured or have a high deductible and cannot afford your care, we offer a “Charitable Care Program”, which provides discounted or even free care to qualifying patients. To qualify for free or discounted care, patients must live in Wayne or Holmes Counties and provide documentation to prove your household income is at or below 250% of the federal poverty level.

The VSC is a member of the Charitable Healthcare Network (Formerly Ohio Association of Free Clinics), the National Association of Free & Charitable Clinics, and the National Association of Rural Health Clinics.
